The Jesuit College is planned to become one of the seats of the Central Bohemia University, which is due to be established within two years.
The college will also serve as the university’s rectorate as well as a venue for graduation ceremonies and other representative academic events.
David Rath talked of the coexistence of the Central Bohemia University and the Kutná Hora Arts Centre in the Jesuit College as a ‘symbiosis’ between these two cultural and educational institutions.
The press conference, at which Ivan Neumann also informed the media about the plans of the Czech Museum of Fine Arts for the Kutná Hora Arts Centre, was followed by a tour of the reconstructed interior of the Jesuit College accompanied by the Governor of the CBR and the Director of the CMFA.
Before a large number of journalists attending the conference, Governor Rath paid open tribute to Dr Neumann’s ability – under extremely difficult circumstances – to bring such a major reconstruction project to a successful conclusion.
