Original works by a young New York artist. Karen LaMonte lives in Prague, and in the Central European context she acquired a remarkable knowledge of glassmaking, using it to the full in her exceptional sculptures and reliefs.Employing inventive techniques, she achieves surprising effects that uniquely reinforce their symbolic meaning.
Although she has exhibited at major museums and is represented in the collections of such institutions as the National Gallery of Australia and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, her work remains relatively unknown in the Czech Republic.
